No need to reboot the Mac on recovery mode, temporarily disable SIP, load kext or other files, etc. It works for me on Mojave 10.14.6 with Keten adaptor (with switch btw PC and Wii U), non official GC gamepad and Dolphin 5.0-11711. Hit configure: this time the controller should be recognized without any error message appearing (rumble is of course unabled). Turn again the adaptor's switch to WiiU.Hit configure: the controller is not recognized (as it should be) and there is no error message. When hitting configure, ' Error Opening Adapter: Access denied (insufficient permissions)', appears when the adapter switch is on WiiU (contoller is recognized but the system denies access to it). on dolphin controller settings, select GameCube Adapter for Wii U (after plugging the adapter with controllers). It holds for a standard adapter with a switch which can be on 2 positions: PC or Switch/WiiU.
It seems that I have a much simpler solution that I would like to share with you here. I am aware of a solution based on (temporarily) disabeling SIP. I have recently faced the ' Error Opening Adapter: Access denied (insufficient permissions)' upon attempting to connect gamecube controllers on dolphin using MacOs.
